Interagency Task Force
The Federal Interagency Energy Management Task Force (Task Force) was established in accordance with the Federal Energy Management Improvement Act of 1988 to stimulate increased energy efficiency in the Federal sector. The Director of the Department of Energy's Federal Energy Management Program serves as the Executive Director of the Task Force. The Task Force, composed of Federal agencies' chief energy managers, addresses energy issues affecting Federal facilities and operations and provides in-depth analysis and recommendations concerning current and pending legislation, technical issues, and coordinated implementation of Federal activities. The Task Force also serves as a forum for sharing lessons learned among different agencies. The Task Force establishes working groups to resolve specific technical or programmatic issues, to develop new initiatives, and to address legislative requirements and topics presented by the Executive Director, senior agency officials, or member agencies.
