Holt Receives National Parks Conservation Association’s
“Friend Of The National Parks” Award

Washington, D.C. -- The National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA) today bestowed its “Friend of the National Parks” award on Rep. Rush Holt (NJ-12) for his 100% favorable voting record on park issues in the 108th Congress.

“I’m honored to receive this award again this year,” said Holt. “Our national parks are a treasure we must protect for future generations, and I look forward to working with NPCA and other friends of our national park system towards that worthy and essential goal. National parks belong to all Americans.”

The NPCA “Friend of the National Parks” award is based solely on a member’s voting record on legislation deemed by NPCA to be significant to the national parks.

"America's national parks are under siege, suffering from insufficient funding, chronic air pollution, and other threats. Rep. Holt’s support is essential to restoring and preserving these beloved places," said National Parks Conservation Association President Tom Kiernan. "We look forward to working with him to increase funding and protections for the national parks."
