Modern manuscripts are defined as archival materials dating from the year 1600 and comprise an estimated 10,000 linear feet, including about 250 oral histories. The lists were generated from queries to a MS Access shelflist database.
For manuscript collections with finding aids, full text HTML versions of EAD (Encoded Archival Description) encoded finding aids are available. Future projects include the addition of a searchable database of finding aids.
Each list is searchable, to some extent, by using your computer's "Find" function ("Ctrl F" for Windows; "Apple key F" for Macintosh).
For more detailed information about manuscript materials without finding aids, consult the NLM on-line catalog LocatorPlus, or the in-house collection guides.
