LF National Map Download File Names: Downloaded files have a naming convention that appears to use random numbers.

Background:

When a layer is extracted and readied for download, the web service assigns a random eight digit number to the file.

Advice:

To best manage the downloading of files, especially when downloading multiple files, it is recommended that users rename a file as soon as it appears in Windows Explorer, before downloading the next file. While the underlying files will still carry the eight digit number, users will at least be able to track which file is which.
