NCI-Frederick Biotechnology Services

Overview

There are a variety of biotechnology services available to both Frederick and Bethesda-based investigators through NCI-Frederick. Services are available through the Center for Cancer Research (CCR), the Advanced Technology Program (ATP), and the Laboratory and Animal Sciences Program (LASP). Services are available on an open or limited-access “fee for service” basis.

CCR Core Resources
The CCR has established centralized scientific resources to give NCI investigators access to new technologies, special expertise, and additional technical support in fields such as imaging, animal sciences, analytical/protein chemistry, genetics/genomics, and structural biology.

Direct general inquiries about CCR resources to Dr. David Goldstein, Ph.D.

LASP
LASP provides animal care and support at the NCI-Frederick and NCI-Bethesda campuses. LASP ensures that investigators' needs for healthy animals appropriate to their research requirements are met and that all animals are housed, handled, and care for in a humane manner in a controlled environment. It also provides scientific support to investigators conducting animal-based research and to the Animal Care and Use Committee.

Direct general inquiries about the LASP to Dr. Kristin Komschlies, Ph.D.

ATP
ATP, which is based at the NCI-Frederick, offers investigators specialized support to help them succeed in today's fast-paced and complex scientific environment. RTP provides specific expertise, new technologies, and experienced staff to enhance the research efforts of all NCI investigators.

Direct General Inquiries about the ATP to Dr. Bruce Crise, Ph.D.

General inquiries about the Clinical Services Program, Clinical Monitoring Research Program, and Repository Services may be directed to Dr. Kristin Komschlies, Ph.D.
