ModelTracker Database

This Microsoft Access database is a custom-designed tool that allows users to capture a thorough description of a particular vegetation type in a standardized fashion.

Users can track track inputs, outputs, assumptions, contributors, model-review comments, and other data for each vegetation model. The database contains fields for information on a vegetation type’s geographic range, biophysical setting, disturbance ecology, succession classes and more. Model descriptions are produced from this database in a user-friendly report format.

Users can also download a blank version of the Rapid Assessment database (see link at right). This database can serve as a useful template when conducting local VDDT modeling. Specifically, because ModelTracker provides the same data design and analysis framework, it promotes consistency by helping users emulate the LANDFIRE modeling process.

LANDFIRE National’s version of ModelTracker will be available by 2009.
