Spotlight on
Individual Learning Accounts

Seeing a need for more data about Individual Learning Accounts (ILA), Federal agencies were asked to participate in the ILA Pilot Initiative. ILA Pilots provided information and data as to the effectiveness of ILAs for Federal workers.

Agencies were encouraged to structure their pilots to use innovative models that best met their organizational needs. ILA training opportunities were not limited to programs delivered by learning technology and could be used to develop knowledge, skills, and abilities that directly relate to the employee's official duties. Thirteen agencies volunteered to pilot ILAs. A description of the ILAs are spotlighted here.
