Mica Announces Subcommittee Ranking Republicans

Washington, DC – U.S. Rep. John L. Mica (R-FL), the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Republican Leader, today announced the Republicans who will serve as the six T&I Subcommittee Ranking Members in the 111th Congress.

Highways and Transit Subcommittee: U.S. Rep. John J. Duncan, Jr. (R-TN) Duncan’s second term as the subcommittee’s ranking member

Aviation Subcommittee – U.S. Rep. Tom Petri (R-WI) – Petri’s second term as the subcommittee’s ranking member

Water Resources and Environment Subcommittee – U.S. Rep. John Boozman (R-AR) – Boozman has served as the subcommittee’s ranking member since February, 2008

Railroads, Pipelines and Hazardous Materials Subcommittee – U.S. Rep. Bill Shuster (R-PA) – Shuster’s second term as the subcommittee’s ranking member

Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation Subcommittee – U.S. Rep. Frank LoBiondo (R-NJ) – LoBiondo replaces Rep. Steven C. LaTourette, who no longer serves on the Transportation Committee

Economic Development, Public Buildings and Emergency Management Subcommittee – U.S. Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL) – Diaz-Balart replaces Rep. Sam Graves, who was appointed as the Small Business Committee ranking member and cannot hold both positions

“The United States faces an historic economic crisis and our infrastructure continues to deteriorate,” Mica said.  “These six members have a tremendous amount of expertise to address these issues and I look forward to their leadership on this committee as we seek to determine the policies that will rebuild our nation.”

Individual member subcommittee assignments will be determined at a later date.
