Each summer, the Office of the General Counsel (“OGC”) accepts four to six law students into its competitive Summer Law Clerk Program. OGC Summer Law Clerks work on campaign finance and administrative law issues in this ten-week, compensated summer program. Each Summer Law Clerk is assigned to one of four divisions – Policy, Enforcement, Litigation, or General Law and Advice – and is given responsibility for his or her own projects, with supervision from an Assistant General Counsel and staff attorney mentor.
Law students who are in their second year of law school, or the equivalent in a part-time program, and who are available to work full-time for OGC during the summer preceding their law school graduation.
Through your career services office: OGC interviews at several law schools and job/interview fairs throughout the continental United States. Please check with your career services office to find out if OGC is interviewing at your law school or in your area.
