This background paper provides an overview of cardiovascular diseases and its associated risk factors among Asian American and Pacific Islanders. This background report was developed to examine the needs and opportunities for cardiovascular health promotion for Asian Americans/Pacific Islanders. It provides an overview of the status of cardiovascular disease (CVD) among these populations and shares knowledge gained from successful community-based projects across the country.

Certified health education specialists (CHES) may receive 3 credit hours in category 1 by reading the Guide and completing a quiz.
