How can I find out who is running for President in 2008?

Contact the Public Records Office for the latest list (updated monthly). Or, click here for a selected list of individuals who are either testing the waters or have declared their candidacy for the 2008 Presidential election. You may also want to search the FEC's Report Image System to check for recent candidate and committee filings, view reports and obtain more information about particular candidates.

Note that the names of the candidates that will appear on the 2008 primary election ballots will probably vary from state to state.  This is because elections (including the rules for ballot access) are administered by each state, and sometimes by the political parties, according to state law.  Use the Combined Federal/State Disclosure and Election Directory to contact your state’s main election office for the official ballot listing in your jurisdiction or to obtain information on how candidates get on the ballot.
