Welcome to Safety Training Operations

Mission and Functions

Many new initiatives have occurred as a result of the Secretary of Energy's 2004 designation of the NTC as the Center of Excellence for Security and Safety Professional Development for the Department of Energy. To begin with, in Fiscal Year 2005, the Safety Development Program has been "stood up" with five courses that support both the Technical Qualifications Program and site training requirements. This program will be expanded in 2006 and out years with a structured development program for safety professionals and with additional courses designed to meet the needs of defense nuclear facility safety operations.
