U. S. Department of Labor Employment Standards Administration Wage and Hour Division Washington D. C. 20210 MEMORANDUM NO. 160 MEMORANDUM FOR ALL CONTRACTING AGENCIES OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMMENT AND THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA FROM: JOHN R. FRASER Acting Administrator SUBJECT: Publication of the Third Edition of the Service Contract Act Directory of Occupations A new, expanded and reorganized edition of the Service Contract Act Directory of Occupations (the Directory) is being published by the Wage and Hour Division. This third edition has been expanded to cover close to 70 additional occupations, bringing the total included to more than 300. In addition, major occupa- tional categories for Forestry and Logging, Personal Needs, and Health Occupations have been added. Responding to agency suggestions, this Directory is being printed in loose-leaf form to facilitate the use of annual Directory supplements, as needed. To maintain an up-to-date version of the Directory, be sure to order the annual supplement from the Super- intendent of Documents each October. Future new purchasers of the Directory will be provided with all supplements produced to date. In April 1985, the first edition of the Directory was issued; the second edition was issued in July 1986. The Directory can be used by procurement staff as an important resource and time- saver in requesting Service Contract Act (SCA) wage determina- tions, providing a common vocabulary for the wage determination process. The third edition of the Directory will be available for sale from the Superintendent of Documents and may be ordered by calling (202) 783-3238 or writing to Superintendent of Documents, U.S. Government Printing Office, Washington, D.C. 20402. Inquiries regarding the third edition may be made by telephone to Alan Moss at FTS 523-7531 (or 202-523-7531). Also, we welcome your comments and suggestions concerning any Directory problems, additions, or suggested changes. Send such information to: U.S. Department of Labor, Employment Standards Administration, Wage and Hour Division, Division of Wage Determinations, 200 Consti- tution Avenue, N.W., Room S-3014, Washington, D.C. 20210.
