The HEALTH & WELFARE FRINGE BENEFIT RATES increased on June 1, 2008.
Effective July 24th, 2008, the new FLSA Minimum Wage rate is $6.55 and takes effect for all Service Contract Act wage determinations. Effective June 1, 2008, the health and welfare fringe benefit rates increased for all Service Contract Act wage determinations. The low-level benefit is $3.24 per hour, or $129.60 per week or $561.60 per month. Also, Wage and Hour Division (WHD) will continue to issue SCA wage determinations based on the average cost method of compliance. The high-level benefit rate is $3.24 per hour. WHD will issue the average cost fringe benefit wage determinations only for those contracts where the formerly grandfathered high-level benefit rate applied. If you receive a wage determination that does not contain the new health and welfare rate of $3.24, please contact WHD via email at the address listed below. If the contract action is in the State of Hawaii, or if there are any questions, please refer to All Agency Memorandum Number 204 (PDF, HTML), or call (202) 693-0073. |
