Reservists get second Raptor unit ready to fly
HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- Air Force Reserve Command moved closer to launching its second F-22A associate group Jan. 7 when Col. Donald "Louie" Lindberg flew his first Raptor sortie here.
Colonel Lindberg commands Detachment 1, 301st Fighter Wing at Holloman. Plans call for the detachment to stand up as the 44th Fighter Group in late summer or early fall.

McConnell teamwork helps new Airmen see mission up close
MCCONNELL AIR FORCE BASE, Kan. -- Birthdays came a little early this year for Airman 1st Class Matt Rourk and Airman Timothy Lollis.
They were among 29 active-duty Airmen who flew with a Reserve KC-135 Stratotanker crew on an aerial refueling mission on Jan. 10. Because Airmen Rourk and Lollis had birthdays in January, they were offered two seats available in the cockpit during takeoff. Both Airmen gladly accepted.

Air Force Reserve C-130 units get new commanders
ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. -- Two Air Force Reserve Command C-130 wings with high-profile special missions welcomed new commanders in January.
Brig. Gen. Richard Moss, 403rd Wing commander at Keesler AFB, Miss., retired from the Air Force after 38 years of service.
Col. James J. Muscatell replaced General Moss as commander of the 403rd WG. Colonel Muscatell formerly commanded the 302nd Airlift Wing at Peterson AFB, Colo.

Board selects 37 officers for developmental education
DENVER -- A board met at the Air Reserve Personnel Center in December and selected 37 Air Force Reserve officers to attend developmental education courses.
The Reserve Developmental Education Designation Board chose 17 officers for Senior Developmental Education schools.

Dover reservists help defend base in Iraq
DOVER AIR FORCE BASE, Del. -- Eleven security forces reservists from here deployed to Kirkuk Regional Air Base, Iraq, in early January.
The 512th Airlift Wing Airmen will be assigned to the 506th Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron. They will provide base defense operations such as perimeter security, entry control and patrol the base.
