NRC FACT SHEET
ON FORCE-ON-FORCE SECURITY
EXERCISES AT NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS
Printable Version
|
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission
has developed a Fact Sheet on its Force-on-Force exercises that are
being held at commercial nuclear power plants across the country to assess the
adequacy of licensee security plans to protect public health and safety from
potential malevolent attacks. As an exception to the Commission’s general
rule not to disclose the location of Force-on-Force exercises, the Commission
committed to a Senate Environment and Public Works Committee hearing earlier
this year to conduct a Force-on-Force exercise at the Indian Point site located
in Buchanan, New York, this summer. For security reasons, the exact dates will
not be provided.
