Tips for Conducting Business with NRC

Some important points to keep in mind when marketing to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC):

The NRC procures products and services in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation exit icon (48 CFR Chapter 1) and the NRC Acquisition Regulation (48 CFR Chapter 20).

Micropurchases: Purchases below $3,500 (also known as micropurchases) are made using the Visa credit card. These purchases are not strictly set aside for small business (although their use is encouraged), and competition is not required. See our list of credit card holders.

Simplified Acquisitions: Purchases above $3,500 and below $100,000 are reserved for small businesses and are subject to streamlined procurement procedures. Purchases between $3,500 and $25,000 are typically not advertised, and the NRC generally solicits proposals for these purchases from three sources.

Annual Forecast: NRC's planned procurements over $25,000 are published in an annual NRC Forecast of Contract Opportunities. Review this document to identify those NRC offices that purchase the products and services that your firm provides.

FedBizOpps: The NRC publicizes proposed business opportunities valued at greater than $25,000 on the FedBizOpps Web site exit icon. You may register on this site for automatic notification of business opportunities by product or service classification code the day they are posted.

Central Contractor Registration (CCR): The primary registrant database for the U.S. Federal Government. CCR collects, validates, stores and disseminates data in support of agency acquisition missions. Click here exit icon to learn more about CCR Policy and Background.

GSA Federal Supply Service: The NRC uses the General Services Administration's (GSA) Federal Supply Service (FSS) exit icon Contracts and schedules, GSA Advantage, GSA GWACS, and other purchasing assistance for buying an increasing variety of products and services. We encourage you to have your business listed here.
