OPM Launches Television Recruitment Ad Campaign in Johnstown/ Altoona, PA

Campaign Encourages Americans to Consider Careers in Federal Government

Washington, D.C. - U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Director Linda M. Springer today announced the beginning of a television ad campaign designed to attract new workers to the Federal government. Part of a nationwide campaign to target those who have the qualifications, skills, and experience to become part of the Federal civilian workforce, the ads will run in the Johnstown-Altoona, PA media market for the next two weeks.

"More than 20,000 jobs in the Federal government are available right now," said Director Springer. "From medicine to accounting, the Federal government offers great opportunities to Americans with all kinds of unique skills who wish to serve their friends and neighbors."

The ad campaign, which premiered at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. earlier this May, is raising awareness of potential employees around the nation to the unique and rewarding careers available in the Federal civil service. Four distinct ads featuring real Federal workers denote some of the divergent opportunities available. Each ad instructs viewers to visit www.USAJOBS.gov to discover the many careers the Federal civil service has to offer and how to apply.

"OPM is looking out for America by ensuring we have an effective and motivated civilian workforce providing services we all depend on," Springer concluded. "This campaign says to all Americans, whether they are just graduating college or are looking for a career change - we need you."
