|||||||||
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission
has approved a request by AmerGen Energy Company, LLC, to increase the generating
capacity of the Clinton Power Station by about 20 percent, or about 186 megawatts.
The power uprate at the plant, near Clinton, Illinois, will increase the
generating capacity of the reactor to about 1,116 megawatts of electricity.
The facility intends to implement the power increase in two phases beginning
this spring. The application for the increase in power was submitted to the
NRC on June 18, 2001. |
