NRC ADVISORY COMMITTEE ON NUCLEAR WASTE
TO MEET MARCH 19 -21 IN ROCKVILLE, MARYLAND

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission's Advisory Committee on Nuclear Waste (ACNW) has scheduled a meeting on March 19 - 21 in Rockville, Maryland, to discuss, among other subjects, a presentation by the Department of Energy that updates its recent performance assessment activities for the proposed high-level nuclear waste repository at Yucca Mountain, Nevada. In addition, the NRC staff will brief the committee on its Review Plan for the proposed repository.

The meeting, which is open to the public, will be held in Room T-2B3 of the agency's Two White Flint North Building, at 11545 Rockville Pike. It will begin at 8:30 a.m. each day. A complete agenda is attached.

2:00 - 3:30 P.M.	Annual Research Report to the Commission (Open)
		The Committee will finalize its annual research report to the Commission.

3:45 - 6:00 P.M.	Preparation for Meeting with the NRC Commissioners (Open)
		The next meeting with the NRC Commissioners is scheduled to be held at 9:30 a.m. in the Commissioners' Conference Room, One White Flint North on March 20, 2002. The Committee will review its proposed presentations.

Presentation time should not exceed 50 percent of the total time allocated for a specific item. The remaining 50 percent of the time is reserved for discussion.
