NRC TO MEET
WITH ENERGY NORTHWEST |
||
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory
Commission staff will meet with representatives of Energy Northwest on Wednesday,
April 10, to discuss the results of the agency's annual assessment of safety
performance at the Columbia Generating Station nuclear power plant. The facility
is located near Richland, Wa., and is operated by Energy Northwest.
The meeting, which will be open to the public for observation, is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Richland Public Library, 955 Northgate Dr., Richland. NRC staff will be available before the meeting is adjourned to answer any questions from the public. A letter sent from NRC Region IV to Energy Northwest addresses plant performance during the period April 1 to December 31, 2001, and will serve as the basis for the meeting discussion. It is available on the NRC web site at: http://www.nrc.gov/NRR/OVERSIGHT/ASSESS/LETTERS/wnp_2001q4.pdf. Current performance information for Columbia Generating Station is available on the NRC web site at: http://www.nrc.gov/NRR/OVERSIGHT/ASSESS/WASH2/wash2_chart.html. |
