NRC TO MEET WITH EXELON GENERATION COMPANY TO DISCUSS PERFORMANCE AT PEACH BOTTOM NUCLEAR POWER PLANT

Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff will meet with representatives of Exelon Generation Company on Tuesday, June 12, to discuss the results of the agency's annual assessment of safety performance at the Peach Bottom nuclear power plant.

The meeting, which will be open to the public for observation, is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. in Room S1-1 of the Site Management Building at the plant, which is located on Lay Road in Delta, Pa. (The four-story Site Management Building can be found close to the river in the publically accessible portion of the site.) NRC officials will be available afterwards to answer questions.

The performance period to be discussed is April 2, 2000, to March 31, 2001. A letter sent from the NRC Region I office to Exelon addresses plant performance during the period and will serve as the basis for the meeting discussion.
