NRC SCHEDULES WORKSHOP ON FUEL FACILITY OVERSIGHT |

The NRC has scheduled a workshop on February 8 in Rockville, Maryland, to obtain suggestions from the public on improving the agency's oversight program for nuclear fuel cycle facilities. This workshop is one of several to be held to factor public and other stakeholder comments into a revised fuel facility oversight program. These facilities process and fabricate uranium ore into nuclear reactor fuel. This meeting will focus on the work plan and the schedule of activities and milestones to revise the oversight program. This initiative will employ lessons learned from the recently revised commercial nuclear reactor oversight program. The workshop, which is open to the public, will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in Room O-16B4 of the agency's headquarters at One White Flint North, 11555 Rockville Pike. Visitor parking is limited; however, the building can be easily reached via the Red Line Metro to the White Flint station.
