NRC NAMES NEW RESIDENT INSPECTOR AT POINT BEACH NUCLEAR POWER PLANT

Nuclear Regulatory Commission officials in Lisle, Illinois, have announced the assignment of Paul Krohn as the agency's senior resident inspector at the Point Beach Nuclear Power Plant in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. The plant is operated by the Nuclear Management Co.

Krohn, a NRC employee since 1996, began his duties at the plant February 12. He most recently worked as a resident inspector at the LaSalle Nuclear Power Plant in Marseilles, Illinois, and prior to that as a resident inspector at the Prairie Island Nuclear Power Plant in Welch, Minnesota.

Prior to joining the NRC, Krohn worked for Lockheed Martin Inc. as a non-destructive testing development engineer at Knolls Atomic Nuclear Power Laboratory in Schenectady, N.Y. He also was a shift supervisor and nuclear plant engineer for General Electric Co. at a U.S. Navy nuclear submarine prototype power plant in West Milton, N.Y.

Krohn earned a bachelor's degree in marine engineering from the State University of New York's Maritime College, and a master's in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan. He also has a professional engineers license from the State of New York.

Krohn joins Resident Inspector Ray Powell at the Point Beach plant. They can be reached at the plant at (920) 755-2309.
