NRC to Meet With Consolidated Edison to Discuss Performance at Indian Point 2 Nuclear Plant

Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff will meet with representatives of the Indian Point 2 nuclear power plant on Tuesday, November 23, to discuss the results of the agency's latest Plant Performance Review for the facility. Consolidated Edison Company (of New York) operates the plant, which is located in Buchanan, NY.

Issuance of the reviews was announced in NRC news release I-99-87 on October 13. The Plant Performance Review letter can be found on the agency's Internet web site at: http://www.nrc.gov/OPA/ppr/247ppr2.htm .

The meeting, which will be open to the public, will begin at 11 a.m. in the Indian Point 2 Visitors Center Auditorium at Broadway and Bleakley Avenue in Buchanan. At its conclusion, NRC staff will be available to answer questions from interested observers and to meet with state and local officials.
