NRC TO RECEIVE INTERIM RESULTS OF INDIAN POINT 2 TRIP REVIEW

NOTE TO EDITORS:  

On Tuesday, September 14, Consolidated Edison Company will present Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff with the interim results of its review of an August 31 reactor trip with complications at the Indian Point 2 nuclear power plant. The meeting will begin at 1 p.m. in the Public Meeting Room at the NRC Region I office. It will be open to the public for observation.

The discussion will include preliminary root causes, corrective actions taken to date and additional actions planned.

Also reviewing the event at the Buchanan, N.Y., plant are members of an NRC Augmented Inspection Team. Once that team has completed its work, a public exit meeting will be scheduled.
