Since that time, he has held progressively more responsible positions in the region, including director of three divisions, and in 2000, Dr. Mallett was appointed as Deputy Regional Administrator. Dr. Mallett received a B.S. degree in Biology and an M.S. degree in Biochemistry from Wright State University. He received his Ph.D. in Health Physics from Purdue University.

Mr. Plisco joined the NRC in 1982 as a Reactor Inspector in Region I, King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. He later became the Resident Inspector and Senior Resident Inspector at the Susquehanna Steam Electric Station. In 1987, he transferred to NRC Headquarters where he held progressively more responsible positions in the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (NRR) including Senior Operations Engineer; Senior Assistant to the Deputy Director; and Chief, Performance Evaluation Section. In 1992, he served two years in the Office of the Executive Director for Operations and then returned to NRR as Chief, Operating Reactor Inspection Programs Section. In 1997, Mr. Plisco was appointed Deputy Director, Division of Reactor Projects, Region II, and quickly moved up to the Director position. Mr. Plisco received a B.S. degree in Systems Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy and an M.S. degree in Technical Management from Johns Hopkins University.
