NRC TO MEET WITH
EXELON TO DISCUSS STATUS OF COMPANY’S REACTORS |

Staff from the Nuclear Regulatory
Commission’s Region I and III and Headquarters offices will meet with
representatives of Exelon Generation Company on Wednesday, July 30, to discuss
the status of Exelon’s nuclear power plants. The meeting is scheduled
to take place from 1 to 4 p.m. at the NRC’s Region I Office in King of
Prussia, Pa.
Members of the public are invited to observe the meeting and will have an opportunity to communicate with NRC staff before the session is adjourned. Exelon operates 17 reactors at 10 different sites. They include the Limerick 1 and 2 and Peach Bottom 2 and 3 nuclear power plants, all of which are located in Pennsylvania; and the Braidwood 1 and 2, Byron 1 and 2, Dresden 2 and 3, LaSalle County 1 and 2, and Quad Cities 1 and 2 nuclear power plants, all of which are located in Illinois. In addition, Exelon, by virtue of a joint venture with British Energy known as AmerGen, operates the Clinton, Oyster Creek and Three Mile Island 1 nuclear power plants, located in Illinois, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, respectively. |
