 About Zip Files

Image illustrating that several files and documents can be placed within a zip file. Some files on this Web site are available in Zip archive format. A zip file contains one or more files within it and is compressed to minimize the file's size.

The advantages of using the zip file format is to archive several files into a single file and to minimize its size for faster download times. Once a zip file is downloaded, the file or files within it can be extracted and used normally.

There are several high quality software utilities available to manage and work with zip files available on the Web and from local retailers.
