TOXLINE® Subset

TOXLINE is the National Library of Medicine's (NLM) bibliographic database for toxicology, a varied science encompassing many disciplines. TOXLINE records provide bibliographic information covering the biochemical, pharmacological, physiological, and toxicological effects of drugs and other chemicals. TOXLINE references are drawn from various sources organized into component subfiles.

NLM leases a TOXLINE subset which includes data drawn from all TOXLINE subfiles except 1) the archival NIOSH and BIOSIS subfiles (NLM does not currently add NIOSH or BIOSIS data to TOXLINE Subset), and 2) the toxicology subfile which contains references to the standard biomedical/toxicology journal literature in PubMed. The toxicology-related PubMed subset is included with the data distributed to those who lease MEDLINE/PubMed. Furthermore, NLM distributes the IPA subfile only after the licensee obtains permission from the producer of IPA, the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP). See Special Note for TOXLINE Subset.

See the TOXLINE fact sheet for a description of all TOXLINE subfiles.
