1. Which groups are considered to be “the major racial and ethnic groups” for the purposes of this report?

The groups that are considered "the major racial and ethnic groups" are established in accordance with your State's plan required by section 1111 of the ESEA for determining adequate yearly progress. Depending on the racial and ethnic composition of individual schools, the major racial and ethnic groups may not be the same for all schools in the project. 2. Does the student achievement performance measure require that we report on the achievement status of each major racial and ethnic group separately”?

The criterion for the performance measure is that all of the major racial and ethnic groups at a school are meeting the appropriate standard(s) for adequate yearly progress. As a result, this reporting on this performance measure does not require further detail. Nonetheless, more detailed information will be included in the supporting documentation (see next question) and it may be useful to discuss trends in the "Explanation of Progress" section, especially in instances where some schools are not successfully meeting the standard of success established in the performance measure.

3. What supporting data must be included to document actual performance?

You should include the school report that reflects the results of student testing that is used to determine whether a school is making adequate yearly progress, in accordance with your State's plan required by section 1111 of the ESEA.

4. When should this data be reported if we do not have the necessary test score results when our performance report is due on June 30?

If you do not have this data at the time the report is due, you will be required to report the date by which you expect to have the data available for submission to ED and you will need to report the data by that date.

5. Where should I put the supporting data in the performance report?

Generally, the best solution will be to include the supporting data in an appendix to the report and make reference to the location of the data in the "Explanation of Progress" section.
