Closing date: To ensure timely processing and prompt access to the grant funds, the Department strongly encourages all applicants to submit completed applications by April 18, 2008. However, if applicants are unable to meet the April 18th deadline, the latest that applications should be submitted is June 30, 2008.

Only those institutions and organizations named in the explanatory statement accompanying the Act may receive these grants. These earmarked institutions should review the application guidelines carefully before preparing an application.
A letter inviting applications for the earmark grants will be mailed beginning March 14, 2008, to the designated contact person for each project. The application guidelines, which will be mailed with the letter, instruct applicants that they may choose to submit their application by carrier, courier, or by using the Department's e-Grants system, at http://e-Grants.ed.gov.
