Office of Personnel Management FLSA Regulations Online

This page explains how you can search law and regulations online.

The National Archives and Records Administration publishes the Federal Register and the Code of Federal Regulations. They are the official sources for our regulations.

This highlighted link will take you to the National Archives and Records Administration site where you may search online files of the Federal Register, Code of Federal Regulations, and United States Code.

To search these files quickly, you must know the section number of the topic you are looking for. For example, our regulation on general principles governing FLSA exemptions in published in section 551.202 of title 5, Code of Federal Regulations (CFR). To find 5 CFR 551.202 online, you would search for 5CFR551.202. The part of the law that explains OPM's role is published in section 202 of title 29, United States Code (U.S.C.). To find 29
U.S.C. 202 online, you would search for 29USC202. Below are the section numbers and headings for the law and our regulations as of January 1, 1999.

NOTE: The list of section numbers is not a set of links. You must go to the National Archives and Records Administration website to search for the specific section you want.
