The Catalog of Surveys and Archive of Procedures Related to Oral Health is
a two-part database linking descriptions of data sources (Catalog) with
descriptions of procedures (Archive) used in the data sources. The Catalog and Archive
database provides a central and up-to-date resource for
detailed descriptions of oral health data sources for public health research,
program planning, and policymaking. This searchable database is available
online free
of charge and on CD-ROM (How to order CD-ROM).
The Catalog (online search) describes surveys and studies
related to oral health, including
- Sample design
- Data collection methods
- Population studied or surveyed
- Geographic region
- References (literature containing
statistics and summaries of the study or
survey)
- The Catalog does not contain the data
sets it describes, just information about
them

The Archive (online
search) describes clinical indices,
questionnaires, and other methods of
measuring oral health including
- Procedure/method background
- Historical changes or well-established modified versions
- References (literature regarding the
validity, reliability, and procedure
performance)
- Survey listing and studies using the procedure

in the public domain and may be freely copied, distributed and translated.
