Rose: A dry spring in the forecast

Jan. 15, 2009 - Repairs to a severed electrical line at the West Travis County Regional Water System were completed on Wednesday. Customers are no longer asked to cut back water use.

Around noon Monday, contractors working on an expansion of the system inadvertently cut an underground electrical cable that services the raw water intake pumps. That meant water could not be delivered to the water treatment plant. By Monday evening a temporary repair was in place that allowed limited pumping capabilities and provided enough water for essential uses. LCRA crews completed the permanent repairs on Wednesday evening. Read more.
