NEW PUBLICATION

"A Handbook of Selected Tissue Doses for Fluoroscopic and Cineangiographic Examination of the Coronary Arteries" is now available from FDA's Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH). The handbook can be used to evaluate the dose of radiation absorbed in tissues of patients undergoing a broad range of cardiological diagnostic examinations and interventional procedures following a variety of clinical protocols. Clear instructions include a simple approach to nominal dose estimations with user input about technical conditions of their local system. The handbook would be of special interest to interventional radiologists, cardiologists, electrophysiologists, medical physicists, x-ray technologists, and other health care professionals in cardiac catheterization clinics.
