FBI Laboratory Specialized Training Program

Bullet Trajectory Road School

Course dates to be announced

The Bullet Trajectory Road (BTR) school is a five-day course for approximately 20 students that combines lecture and practical problems related to BTR and includes the following topics:

  • Physics of bullet flight

  • Bullet behavior through barriers

  • General crime scene approach

  • Recovery of evidence

  • Bullet trajectory measurement techniques

  • Advanced measurement techniques and graphical visualization of BTR results
This course is not held at the FBI Academy and is scheduled periodically in coordination with host law enforcement agencies. If your agency is interested in hosting a BTR school, please contact the FBI Laboratory Division Training Officer.
