Performing Effective Audits

This course is open to students who are responsible for conducting quality assurance audits in the laboratory. This course covers the fundamentals of auditing a forensic laboratory. The course will cover step by step the audit process from the long term audit planning to the exit interview and writing an audit report. The students will learn what makes an auditor good—how to conduct audit interview, how to document audit findings, and how to assess if a "finding" is truly a finding. On completion of this training course, participants will be able to establish and maintain an internal audit program; plan, organize, and conduct internal quality audits; and identify, record, and follow-up on corrective actions arising from such audits.
