GLOBE Bulletin

October 14, 2003:
10 Million Measurements!

GLOBE is delighted to announce that we have reached a major milestone: Data have now been reported from over 10 million measurements! These data, reported from all around the world over the past 8 years, serve to make the GLOBE database an important resource for information about the environment of our planet.

It is your efforts that made this milestone a reality. The entire GLOBE community can take pride in this accomplishment. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to all the schools and partners that have worked diligently to make this possible.

While GLOBE data are useful to professional scientists, they are also an excellent resource for student research. Please take the opportunity to examine the data and engage in cooperative analysis. The mapping and graphing tools provided on the GLOBE web pages are designed to aid you in this process.

It is important that we work together to continue building on the wealth of information present in the database. By reporting data you are helping to expand the knowledge of the amazing environmental system of Earth. With the release of the 2003 version of the Teacher's Guide, GLOBE has provided you with even more options for continuing your exploration of the world around you.

Congratulations on this accomplishment, and we look forward to working with you to continue expanding on this milestone!
