Maldives Joins GLOBE!
The GLOBE Program welcomes the Maldives as the Program's 105th GLOBE country. On December 8, 2003, the Maldivian Deputy Minister for Home Affairs and Environment and Mr. Jeffrey Lunstead, U.S. Ambassador for Maldives and Sri Lanka, signed the GLOBE Agreement.
Maldivian schools will now join over 23,000 teachers from more than 13,000 schools worldwide, as the newest members of the GLOBE community. By signing the agreement, the Maldives also joins over 100 other countries participating in this hands-on science and education program focusing on Earth system science.
Maldivian students will now unite with hundreds of thousands of primary and secondary school students around the world who are working in partnership with scientists to collect important data for research about the Earth's environment.
