GLOBE-Yosemite National Institutes Form Partnership
GLOBE is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Yosemite National Institutes (YNI), an organization dedicated to providing environmental education programs in America's national parks. YNI welcomes over 30,000 participants annually
to its three institutes in Yosemite and Olympic National Parks and in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area in the Marin Headlands.
GLOBE Director Tom Pyke and YNI President Ty Cobb signed an agreement in Washington, D.C., on October 16, 1996. Under this agreement, YNI educators at the national parks will design activities to introduce young park visitors to the GLOBE science measurements and other GLOBE educational activities. YNI will also develop innovative applications of GLOBE in the national parks, serving as a model for GLOBE operations in other national, state, and local parks.
