GLOBE Welcomes Kenyan Students
On June 9, 1997, the Kenyan Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Kalonzo Musyoka, and the United States Ambassador to Kenya, Prudence Bushnell, signed the GLOBE Agreement in Nairobi, establishing Kenya as a partner in the GLOBE Program.The week of June 23, 1997, representatives from the Kenyan Ministry of Education, the Computer Society of Kenya and the U.S. Peace Corps are participating in a GLOBE training workshop where they are learning the GLOBE science protocols, learning activities, and use of the GLOBE Student Data Server. Kenya plans to initiate GLOBE activities in 20 pilot schools.
