Burkina Faso Joins GLOBE!
On December 18, 1998, Burkina Faso became the 76th GLOBE country. Burkina FasoAmbassador Bruno Nongoma Zidouemba and NOAA Administrator James Baker signed the GLOBE Agreement at a special ceremony held in the Washington, D.C. headquarters of GLOBE."I am convinced that the GLOBE Program, as a practical, educational and scientific program, will contribute to enhancing our national capacity building for the protection of the environment, bringing together the youth and scientists of our two countries, and further strengthening the friendship and the understanding between Burkina Faso and the United States," stated Ambassador Zidouemba at the ceremony.
