Uganda Joins the GLOBE Program!
On November 26, 1998, Uganda became the 75th nation to join the GLOBE Program. The signing ceremony was held at the Ministry of Education in Kampala, Uganda. Minister for Education Apolo Nsibambi signed the GLOBE agreement with Charge d' Affaires Michael Mckinley representing the United States. In his remarks, Minister Nsibambi cited the GLOBE Program as a "creative invention in the field of environmental science. The idea of instilling responsibility for environmental stewardship among all the people of the world, and especially the children and youth, is a cardinal objective of our environmental and management and educational policies."
The GLOBE Program welcomes the teachers and students of Uganda!
