Meetings

Meetings shall be held approximately twice a year at the call of the VMAC Chairperson with the advance approval of a Government official, who also shall approve the agenda. Meetings shall be open to the public except as may be determined otherwise by the Commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration or their designee. Public notice of all meetings shall be published in the Federal Register and on the CVM homepage at least 15 days in advance. Meetings shall be conducted and records of the proceedings kept as required by applicable laws and Department of Health and Human Services regulations. Minutes of open sessions may be made available for public disclosure once certified by the VMAC Chairperson and the Executive Secretary. Minutes of closed sessions may be made available after all matters considered confidential have been deleted and the minutes have been certified by the Committee. In cases where minutes are not promptly available for disclosure, the Executive Secretary will prepare a brief summary of those matters that are considered to be informative to the public and file it with the FDA  Division of Dockets Management, HFA-305.
