When can I enroll?

Answer:

If you are an eligible, newly hired employee and wish to participate in the Federal Flexible Spending Account Program (FSAFEDS), you must enroll within 60 days of your actual start date. Simply go to Enroll to begin. Your election(s) will become effective the day following acceptance of your enrollment. You cannot enroll on, or after, October 1 of any Benefit Period.

If you have questions, you can email FSAFEDS@shps.com or call a Benefits Counselor, toll-free, at 1-877-FSAFEDS (1-877-372-3337), TTY: 1-800-952-0450, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., Eastern Time.

You can also enroll during the next Federal Benefits Open Season. The annual Federal Benefits Open Season is held each year from the Monday of the second full workweek in November through the Monday of the second full workweek in December. FSAFEDS participates in the annual Federal Benefits Open Season. If you enroll during open seasons, your effective date in FSAFEDS will be January 1st.

Please note: If you enroll during Open Season, your election(s) will not be effective until January 1 of the new Benefit Period.
