Life

Can I continue coverage I currently have under another non-Federal plan?

Answer:

You can obtain other life insurance outside the government at any time. It will have no effect on your Federal Employees' Group Life Insurance (FEGLI) Program coverage. You cannot continue FEGLI coverage if you leave Federal service, except under certain circumstances, such as retirement or while in receipt of compensation (OWCP).
