Life

When can I enroll?

Answer:

If you are in a position that makes you eligible for the Federal Employees' Group Life Insurance (FEGLI) Program, you are automatically covered for Basic your first day in pay and duty status. You have 31 days from your appointment date to elect Optional insurance. Afterwards, you may enroll by experiencing a life event, participating in an Open Season, or by providing satisfactory medical evidence of insurability.  You can find more information in the FEGLI Handbook
