THE BAHAMAS: 91ST GLOBE COUNTRY
The Bahamas joined GLOBE this month when the Honorable Zhizargo Laing, Minister of State for Education and Youth signed the GLOBE agreement at the Ministry of Education and Youth in Nassau, Bahamas with US Ambassador Arthur Louis Schechter.Seven GLOBE schools will be identified in New Providence and the Family Islands by the Country Coordinator for GLOBE in Bahamas, Ms. Beverly J.T. Taylor. Minister Laing said "The Government of The Bahamas is pleased to participate in this global program, as it reaffirms our commitment to international goodwill, environmental responsibility, and the educational development of our young people which assures their meaningful participation in the world in which they live."
