GLOBE Home Page Updated!

Welcome to the new GLOBE Home page! Our address is the same - www.globe.gov - but our design is new and our navigation bar has been updated. The navigation bar, which will continue to reside on either the left side or bottom of every GLOBE web page, serves as the index to the GLOBE website.

The categories on the navigation bar have been reordered and expanded to make it easier to find key web features. Since many of us search for things on a web site using different methods, you will find some of the GLOBE web sections linked from multiple places. For example, the Teachers' Guide is now accessible directly from the menu bar, the Educators' Corner and the Resource Room.

It is important to note that the GLOBE School Logon will only be accessible from the home page. GLOBE schools should not bookmark the data entry page, but rather go to the home page each time they are ready to logon.

Data inquiry and analysis features have been added to the GLOBE visualizations server. For example, scatter plots allow you to now see how the data on GLOBE maps compare to other information associated with that data. You can use a scatter plot to see how temperatures vary with latitude, or if there is some relationship between precipitation and elevation.

A new Site Visualizations page has links to several new ways to summarize information collected at GLOBE sites around the world. View a graphical summaries of soil profiles and atmospheric investigation sites, or see the results of Land Cover Accuracy Assessments. Select the "GLOBE Sites" link on the main visualization page for links to these new features.

As with anything new, it will probably take a few tries to become comfortable with our new design and features and to find the features you are accustomed to using, so spend some time acquainting yourself with all the GLOBE site has to offer today!
